Make-up Review: L.A. Girl’s REBEL pigment gloss

I am obsessed with dark shades mainly because it suits my acidic lips most. My favorite as of the moment is L.A. Girl’s Matte flat finish pigment gloss in the shade rebel. Its effect on me is sort of a dupe on MAC‘s pure heroine.

Helpful Tip!

LA Girl Rebel pigment gloss

I didn’t like it at first because I didn’t know how to put it on. With its loose liquid consistency, you really have to be patient during application & a little goes a long way! With light strokes, you can build up the color without going overboard on your natural lip shape.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

From its name, it truly has a matte finish. So before I apply it, I make sure to moisturize my lips first! A must for me since I have dry lips. I just make sure to let the balm set first (say a minute or two) before applying the gloss (and again, letting it set for about a minute). This setting trick applies to all lip applications be it a liquid lipstick/gloss/balm, make sure to let it set first before heading out that door.

And speaking of moisturizing, my holy grail of a balm is Kiehl’s LIP BALM #1! It does the moisturizing seriously. Its no surprise why a lot of people (men and women alike) prefer to use this over anything else. I’ve already used up a couple of tubes before writing this review and oh, did I mention that this lip balm goes with fruity flavors? My personal favorite is their peach (not in the photo)! It gets sold out real fast before they reach the counters so better stock up if you see one.

Where To Buy It?

There are various online shops that sell L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment GlossI got mine from Chedelyn Cosmetics on one of their open house displays here in Iligan. You can also find L.A. Girl products at any Watsons store.
